Registered Patients can consult with our practice online as part of a new service called Engage Consult.  This allows patients to communicate securely and safely online with their practice about non-emergency medical conditions or admin questions. It also offers 24/7 access to symptom-specific self-help information and easy access to other local NHS and self-care services. Engage Consult is designed to boost patient access, enhance practice efficiencies and to free-up much needed time and resources for clinical and admin teams.

The service is free and confidential. You can input your symptoms online and will receive a response from a Clinician – within 48 working hours, and will be either given advice, directed to other sources of support such as the pharmacy, receive a telephone consultation or, if necessary, booked in for an appointment. You’ll also have access to reliable and trustworthy self-help generic information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that may help you to avoid an appointment altogether. You can also use the service to request test results, sick notes, referral letters and medical reports.

Advice for Primary Care Teams regarding Mounjaro prescriptions for weight loss

Requests, from any clinician (NHS or private), for liraglutide, semaglutide or tirzepatide to be prescribed to patients for weight management should be declined and patients advised that prescribing is not currently supported by NHS Grampian.
Requests to prescribe liraglutide, semaglutide or tirzepatide for the purposes of weight management from patients who are / have previously received treatment under a private service should be declined and patients advised that prescribing is not currently supported by NHS Grampian.
Prescribing of liraglutide, semaglutide or tirzepatide for type 2 diabetes should not be undertaken unless recommended by an appropriate NHS specialist/service.
